Oyo Politics: "Te s'oju e" Warns Governor Makinde Against Self-Destructive Alliances

IBADAN – The political landscape in Oyo State is witnessing a high-stakes face-off as Samson Opeyemi Fatola, the prominent House of Representatives aspirant for Ibadan Southwest/Northwest federal constituency, has issued a stern warning to Governor Seyi Makinde regarding his recent political associations. Fatola, popularly known by his political moniker "Te s’oju e," cautioned the Governor against what he described as "self-destructive alliances" that could jeopardize his political future.

In a scathing assessment of the Governor’s current trajectory, Fatola asserted that Makinde’s decision to align with a coalition of opposition figures in Ibadan is a strategic blunder of monumental proportions. He described the alliance as a "circus" of "confused elements" and suggested that by tethering himself to such a group, the Governor is effectively signing his own "political death warrant."

The House of Reps hopeful expressed bewilderment at the Governor’s perceived loss of focus, noting that Makinde seems to be "sinking into the background" of his own career. Fatola’s critique took a unique turn as he suggested that a "heavy spiritual cloud" or "affliction" appears to have clouded the Governor’s once-sharp judgment, leading him away from the political clarity that defined his earlier years in office.

"I make bold to say that his decision to participate in those Ibadan shenanigans shows how far he has fallen," Fatola stated, emphasizing that the Governor is currently "struggling to stay afloat in a sea of confused opposition." He urged Makinde to prioritize the "lingering issues" within the leadership structure of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rather than seeking relevance in external coalitions that he believes are destined for oblivion.

Fatola’s warning concluded with a call for the Governor to "lower his ego" and return to the basics of party administration. By urging Makinde to reconcile with the ranks and files of the PDP leadership, "Te s’oju e" maintains that the Governor’s only path to avoiding political irrelevance is through internal party unity rather than the "chaotic" mergers currently being paraded in the state capital.
