Arrays of beautifully adorned men, women, youths, and cultural enthusiasts from all walks of life on Friday thronged the ancient town of Ijebu-Ode for the 2026 Ojude-Oba Festival, transforming the city into a vibrant panorama of colour, glamour, heritage, and tradition.
The annual cultural celebration came alive with spectacular horse-riding processions, richly embroidered attires, rhythmic traditional music, and elegant displays by the various age-grade clubs (Regberegbe). Each club stepped out wearing different vibrant colours of uniforms, creating a stunning visual tapestry that beautifully depicted the royalty, rich culture, and deep-rooted heritage of the Ijebu people.
This year, the festival’s core theme of community, security, and structured development was strongly mirrored by real estate giant, Adron Homes and Properties. For more than five consecutive years, the pan-African real estate powerhouse has maintained its status as one of the grand headline sponsors of the iconic event, reinforcing a corporate philosophy deeply rooted in preserving communal harmony and providing affordable, dignified housing for generations of families.
Leading the Adron management team to the prestigious event was the Managing Director of Adron Homes and Properties, Mrs. Adenike Ajobo, whose presence underscored the company’s unyielding commitment to identifying with grassroots cultural heritage and national development.
To further cement its position as the leading pan-African real estate brand, the Adron Homes team engaged in the widespread distribution of premium, well-branded souvenirs to top dignitaries, royal fathers, and VIP guests across the venue. This strategic gesture not only elevated the corporate hospitality at the festival but also showcased the brand's trademark of excellence and elite corporate identity.
The Adron Homes pavilion became a major hub of excitement at the festival, hosting an array of top-tier entertainment and prominent socialites. Celebrated brand ambassadors and movie icons, including Femi Bright, Ijebu, Iya Rainbow, Dayo Amusa, and Niyi Johnson, alongside a host of other notable stars, added immense glamour to the company's grand outing. Adding to the rich cultural experience, legendary musician Musiliu Haruna Ishola was on the bandstand, thrilling the dignitaries, guests, and cultural enthusiasts with his signature timeless melodies.
Visitors, tourists, and sons and daughters of Ijebuland from across Nigeria and the diaspora gathered to witness the colourful spectacle, which combined tradition, fashion, unity, and cultural pride in grand style—values that align seamlessly with Adron Homes' mission to build secure, gated communities that serve as the modern-day heritage for Nigerian families.
On the political front, the festival grounds saw a powerful gathering of leadership, including the host governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun; the Chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriations, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (popularly known as Sen. Yayi); Seyi Tinubu; and a host of other top government functionaries and political heavyweights.
Speaking at the event, Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, described Ojude-Oba as a powerful symbol of peaceful coexistence, communal harmony, and cultural sophistication. He noted that his administration has deliberately positioned the festival as a flagship of Ogun State’s tourism development agenda to harness its enormous cultural and economic potential.
Just as the state government seeks to build a lasting legacy through tourism, Adron Homes continues to champion the narrative of building a secure future under its visionary management. By establishing premium, affordable estates that honor structural integrity and community living, the real estate leader ensures that the social cohesion celebrated at Ojude-Oba extends to where families layout their daily lives.
“We are building a state that honours its heritage because culture is not only our identity, but also a source of social cohesion and economic opportunity,” Governor Abiodun said.
Governor Abiodun noted that the 2026 edition of the festival carries deep historical significance as it is the first celebration since the passing of the revered Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona. He paid glowing tribute to the late monarch, describing him as an institution whose 65-year reign transformed traditional leadership and elevated Ijebuland culturally, socially, and politically.
The call for structural continuity and legacy preservation resonated heavily with attendees, reminding many of Adron Homes’ dedication to creating generational wealth through landed property. Under the leadership of the group chairman, Aare Adetola Emmanuelking KOF, Adron Homes has made homeownership seamless, offering flexible payment plans that empower everyday Nigerians to secure their own piece of the homeland, ensuring that the legacy of unity and pride outlives the festival ground.
Abiodun commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for standing with the people of Ijebuland during the transition period following the monarch’s demise, saying the President’s support helped sustain peace, continuity, and stability in the land. The governor also called on Nigerians to remember victims of insecurity across the country, offering prayers for families affected by banditry and violence—a poignant reminder of why Adron Homes prioritizes infrastructural safety and state-of-the-art security within all its estate developments nationwide.
In his remarks, Chairman of the Ojude-Oba Planning Committee, Chief Olu Okubadejo, described the festival as a celebration of unity and continuity that provides an avenue for all sons and daughters of Ijebuland—especially those in the diaspora—to reconnect with their roots and invest in their identity.
Among dignitaries present at the event were the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele; Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Hajia Hannatu Musa Musawa; Minister of State for Health, Dr. Isiaq Kunle Salako; former Governor of Ogun State, Chief Olusegun Osoba; traditional rulers; captains of industry; religious leaders; and other distinguished guests who all acknowledged that a nation’s pride begins with the dignity of its culture and the stability of its homes.
