Akpabio to Bury In-law, Shares Personal Tribute

Senate President Godswill Akpabio will attend the burial of his late in-law, Elder Essien Pius Ubeng, in Ukana Ikot Ntuen, Akwa Ibom State, on Saturday. Akpabio described Ubeng's passing as a "rude shock" and "personal loss".
In a condolence message, Akpabio praised Ubeng as a devoted family man, community leader, and devout Christian who served as a Lay Preacher with the Methodist Church. He highlighted Ubeng's exemplary public service, noting his efficient tenure as a commissioner.
Akpabio expressed his grief, stating, "His death has created a void in the family and a vacuum in the public space." He urged loved ones to find solace in Ubeng's legacy and prayed for his peaceful rest.
