The Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) and member representing Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency, Hon. Aderemi Oseni, has expressed his heartfelt sympathies to the families of those who lost their lives in the devastating fuel tanker accident in Ibadan, Oyo State.

In a statement, Oseni described the incident as "painful and deeply disturbing," and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured. "My heart goes out to the families who lost their loved ones in this tragic and avoidable incident," he said.

The accident, which occurred at the Fruits Market along the Oje–Beere route, claimed six lives, including a motorcyclist, and left several others with injuries. Oseni attributes the incident to a brake failure and calls for stricter adherence to road safety measures, particularly for heavy-duty vehicles transporting flammable products.

"We need to take collective responsibility to safeguard lives and prevent future tragedies," Oseni urged, calling on regulatory agencies and transport operators to prioritize routine vehicle maintenance and compliance with safety standards.

Our thoughts are with the affected families, and we pray for the repose of the souls of the deceased.
