The race for the Ibadan North-East and South-East Federal Constituency seat has gathered momentum as House of Representatives hopeful, Alhaja Hon. Sekinat Tolanikawo Adelakun Akande, popularly known as Eruobodo1, formally declared her intention to contest under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Hon. Akande made her declaration during a well-attended visit to her ward meeting at south-east, Ibadan, where party members and supporters received her with enthusiasm and encouragement. The gathering provided a platform for her to engage directly with grassroots stakeholders and reaffirm her political ambition.
Speaking at the meeting, Eruobodo1 expressed her deep commitment to serving the people of Ibadan North-East and South-East, noting that her decision to contest stems from a genuine desire to contribute meaningfully to the development of the constituency. She emphasized that her aspiration is driven by service, inclusiveness, and a passion for uplifting the people.
The aspirant also unveiled key aspects of her manifesto, which focus on women empowerment, support for the less privileged, and the promotion of women’s capacity in governance. According to her, empowering women and vulnerable groups remains central to achieving sustainable growth and balanced representation.
She further stressed the need to create opportunities that will improve the living standards of constituents, particularly through initiatives that encourage economic independence and social welfare. Hon. Akande maintained that her leadership style would prioritize accessibility, fairness, and community-driven development.
Party members at the meeting commended her courage and vision, describing her as a committed grassroots politician with a clear understanding of the needs of the people. Many expressed optimism that her candidacy would bring fresh perspectives and inclusive representation to the federal constituency.
