Sallah: Fatola Visits Gbolarumi, Rallies Support for PDP Ahead of 2027

As part of the activities marking the festive season, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Ibadan Northwest/Ibadan Southwest Federal Constituency, Hon. Samson Opeyemi Fatola, popularly known as Tesojue, paid a courtesy visit to the former Deputy Governor of Oyo State and party chieftain, Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarumi, at his residence.
The visit, which coincided with the Sallah celebrations, provided a platform for party stakeholders to deliberate on the future of the PDP in Oyo State and reinforce party cohesion ahead of upcoming political dispensations.
Speaking on the purpose of his visit, Hon. Fatola described Alhaji Gbolarumi as a pillar of the party, a mentor, and a leader whose guidance remains invaluable to the political landscape of the state. He expressed confidence in Gbolarumi’s leadership, notably addressing him as the party's prospective governorship flagbearer for the 2027 general elections.
"We are here today to celebrate the Sallah festival with our leader, our mentor, and, by the grace of God, our incoming governor come 2027," Fatola stated.
The House of Representatives candidate used the occasion to issue a passionate appeal to the rank and file of the party, emphasizing the need for absolute loyalty and dedication. He urged all PDP members to rally round and deliver total support for all candidates contesting on the platform of the party across all elective positions.
Addressing internal party dynamics, Fatola extended an olive branch to aggrieved and estranged members of the party, urging them to return to the fold. He maintained that the PDP is undergoing a massive rebranding and revitalization process aimed at ensuring total inclusivity
According to him, the era of factional alliances is over, paving the way for absolute unity under the leadership of the former deputy governor. He assured returning members that the party is now wearing a new look, structured on equity and oneness rather than external political alignments.
In his remarks, Alhaji Gbolarumi thanked Hon. Fatola and his entourage for the visit, appreciating the solidarity shown during the festive season. He reiterated his commitment to the growth and success of the PDP, while urging party faithful to remain steadfast and united in their quest to deliver democratic dividends to the people of Oyo State.
