It’s a witch-hunt, not restructuring’ – Sacked staff cry out over mass retrenchment at Dominion Broadcast Group

A major crisis is currently brewing at the Dominion Broadcast Group, owners of Dominion Radio and Television, following the sudden mass sacking of several key staff members.

Reports that the management of the media conglomerate recently terminated the appointments of an undisclosed number of core workers, a move it reportedly framed as a necessary corporate restructuring exercise.

However, some of the aggrieved former employees have raised the alarm over the development, alleging that the exercise was a calculated "witch-hunt" aimed at victimizing certain individuals rather than repositioning the station.

Speaking with our correspondent under the condition of anonymity, one of the affected workers expressed deep bitterness over the development, stating that those who worked tirelessly to keep the station afloat were the primary targets of the purge.

The source lamented that the criteria used by the management bypassed performance metrics, leaving many dedicated hands completely blindsided by their termination letters.

"It is all about a witch-hunt and has absolutely nothing to do with restructuring. It is heartbreaking that the key staff members who put in all the hard work to make sure the station thrives were the ones singled out and sacked," the source said.

We also gathered that the development has thrown the entire media house into panic, with the remaining workers now harboring severe fears over their job security.

Insiders close to the development further hinted that the sudden removal of the station's core operational brains could severely impact the quality of programming on both Dominion FM and Dominion Television in the coming weeks.

Another terminated employee who spoke on the matter warned that the management’s action could trigger long-term reputational damage for the broadcast brand, adding that a sustainable media empire cannot be run on internal politics and victimization.

Efforts by our correspondent to reach the executive management of Dominion Broadcast Group for comments on the allegations proved abortive, as calls and messages placed to official lines were not responded to as at the time of filing this report.
