BREAKING: Gbolarumi Receives INEC Nod as Nomination Profile Enters Portal

The governorship ambition of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in Oyo State, Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarumi, has received a major boost as his nomination profile successfully entered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Candidate Nomination Portal (ICNP) ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

The development confirms another crucial stage in the nomination process, with the electoral body acknowledging the successful submission of Gbolarumi's candidate profile.

Speaking with the media team via WhatsApp, Taiwo Jimoh, the PDP candidate for Ibadan South-West State Constituency I in the Oyo State House of Assembly election and Personal Assistant to Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarumi, described the development as a clear indication that the party's candidate is fully prepared for the race.

Jimoh said the latest development had removed any uncertainty surrounding Gbolarumi's nomination, adding that "the road is now clear" for the PDP flag bearer.

"The road is clear. Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarumi has been uploaded on the INEC portal. This is a major milestone, and we are focused on the journey ahead," he said.

A temporary acknowledgement generated on the INEC Candidate Nomination Portal showed that Gbolarumi's nomination profile was successfully submitted at 6:24 p.m. (WAT) on Monday, July 27, 2026.

The acknowledgement, however, stated that it serves as a temporary confirmation of submission pending the completion of the nomination process in line with INEC guidelines.

The development has generated excitement among PDP members and supporters across Oyo State, who described it as a significant step in the party's preparations for the 2027 governorship election.
