In a statement made available to journalists on Saturday, the former deputy governor commended President Tinubu for providing the necessary support for the operation, while praising the military, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), local vigilantes and other security personnel for their professionalism, courage and commitment.
According to him, the successful rescue has strengthened public confidence in the nation's security architecture and reaffirmed that coordinated intelligence-driven operations remain the most effective strategy in tackling kidnapping and other violent crimes.
Gbolarumi sympathised with the rescued victims and their families over the traumatic experience they endured, praying for their speedy recovery and smooth return to normal life
He urged both the Federal Government and the Oyo State Government to build on the success by strengthening security around schools and vulnerable rural communities, while advocating sustained intelligence gathering, improved surveillance and closer cooperation between security agencies and local residents.
While congratulating the people of Oyo State on the successful rescue of the victims, Gbolarumi stressed that the fight against insecurity must remain relentless, urging security agencies to ensure that all those responsible for the abduction are tracked down and brought to justice.
