The National Association of Nigerian Comrades (NANC) under the leadership of Comrade Johnclaude Peter, JP, has appointed Dr. Segun Musa as its National Patron following his acceptance of the nomination during a courtesy visit by the association's national leadership to his office in Lagos.

The delegation, led by the National President of NANC, Comrade Johnclaude Peter, JP, visited Dr. Musa on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, to formally present the nomination and discuss the association's vision for youth development and national progress.

During the meeting, the NANC leadership briefed Dr. Musa on the association's current structure, programmes, and ongoing reforms aimed at repositioning Nigerian youths for leadership, advocacy, and national development.

The discussions also focused on youth welfare, education funding, youth empowerment initiatives, the planned inauguration of the NANC National Executive Council (NEC), and the implementation of the newly approved NANC Unified Identification and Digital Membership Policy 2026.

Accepting the appointment, Dr. Musa expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in him by the association and pledged his commitment to supporting NANC through mentorship, strategic guidance, and advocacy for Nigerian youths.

He also reiterated his personal philosophy, urging young people to "Be happy all the time and be bold at everything you do."

Dr. Musa commended the leadership of NANC for what he described as its discipline, vision, and commitment to sanitising and digitising the association through a credible membership verification process and transparent leadership.

Speaking during the visit, NANC President Comrade Johnclaude Peter described Dr. Musa as a respected patriot and education advocate whose leadership and experience would strengthen the association.

"Dr. Segun Musa is a tested patriot, education advocate, and bridge-builder. His acceptance as our Patron adds value, credibility, and fatherly guidance to NANC. We are confident that under his patronage, NANC will reach greater heights in defending the interests of Nigerian students," he said.

The association expressed confidence that Dr. Musa's appointment would further strengthen its engagement with government institutions, development partners, and the private sector in advancing programmes that benefit Nigerian students and youths across the country.
