The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Ibadan South-West/Ibadan North-West Federal Constituency in the 2027 general election, Hon. Samson Opeyemi Fatola, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the nation's security agencies for the successful rescue of the schoolchildren and teachers abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

Fatola, in a statement issued on Saturday, described the safe release of the victims as a major victory for the nation's security architecture and a reassuring development for families, residents and all Nigerians who had anxiously awaited the outcome of the rescue operation.

He said the operation demonstrated the courage, professionalism and resilience of the security agencies, noting that their coordinated efforts culminated in the safe return of the victims without further tragedy.

The PDP chieftain also praised President Tinubu for providing the leadership and support that enabled security operatives to carry out the mission successfully, stressing that the rescue had renewed public confidence in the country's security institutions.

According to him, the successful operation should serve as renewed motivation for security agencies to sustain the fight against criminal elements threatening the peace and stability of communities across the country.

Fatola expressed sympathy with the victims and their families over the traumatic experience, while praying that they would recover fully from the ordeal. He urged governments at all levels to strengthen security around schools and vulnerable communities to prevent similar incidents.

He further called on Nigerians to continue supporting security agencies with credible information, insisting that the fight against kidnapping, banditry and other violent crimes requires collective responsibility.

"The successful rescue of these innocent pupils and their teachers is heartwarming and reassuring. I congratulate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, our gallant security personnel and everyone who contributed to this operation. This victory should encourage us to intensify efforts until every part of our country is safe for our children to learn and for citizens to live without fear," Fatola said.

He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that promote peace, security and the protection of lives and property, adding that the safety of citizens must remain a priority for every level of government.
