ROSMA Begins Digital Education Revolution, Launches Smart Learning Hubs in Oyo South AI-powered initiative to provide free digital education, scholarships and examination support for students

 A new chapter in digital education and youth empowerment began in Oyo South on Thursday as the Remi Oseni Smart Learning Intervention Legacy Programme (ROSMA) officially launched its Smart Learning Hubs, a technology-driven initiative designed to equip thousands of students with the digital skills required for the future.

The programme, spearheaded by the member representing Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for Oyo South in the 2027 general election, Hon. Remi Oseni, is expected to establish one fully equipped Smart Learning Hub in each of the nine local government areas of Oyo South, providing free access to Artificial Intelligence (AI), robotics, coding, digital marketing, data analytics, digital literacy and innovation training

Speaking during the unveiling of the first hub at Agbadagudu, Ibadan, Oseni described the initiative as a deliberate effort to revolutionise education by moving beyond traditional interventions to create sustainable opportunities for students to thrive in the digital age.

According to him, ROSMA is a legacy project aimed at bridging the digital divide and ensuring that young people, irrespective of their social or economic background, have access to world-class technology and digital learning.

> "The future belongs to young people who are equipped with knowledge and technology. Through ROSMA, we are creating an environment where students can acquire globally relevant digital skills and compete confidently in a rapidly changing world.

> "This is not just another education programme. It is a digital education revolution that will empower our children with Artificial Intelligence, innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship. Our vision is to ensure that no child in Oyo South is left behind in the global digital transformation," Oseni said.

Beyond technology training, the lawmaker disclosed that the programme would provide free WAEC and NECO registration, JAMB sponsorship, bursaries, scholarships and entrepreneurship support, describing education as the most strategic investment in the future of society.

Project Director, Demilade Akin-Alabi, said the Smart Learning Hubs are designed to democratise access to technology by taking quality digital education directly to communities across Oyo South

He revealed that five centres have already been completed in Eruwa, Agbadagudu, Ido, Oke-Ado and Oja-Igbo, while construction is ongoing in the remaining four local government areas.

"The launch of ROSMA marks the beginning of a new era where every child, regardless of location, can access the tools and knowledge needed to succeed in a technology-driven world," he said.

Project Manager, Oluwafemi Odeyemi, explained that implementation would commence with a three-day Train-the-Trainers programme to prepare facilitators who will drive learning activities across the hubs.

Also speaking, Bisi Akin-Alabi disclosed that each hub is powered entirely by solar energy, ensuring uninterrupted access to digital learning facilities despite electricity challenges.

She noted that students would benefit from computers, educational software, internet-enabled research, digital learning applications and interactive learning resources designed to improve both academic performance and technological competence.

About 250 students from 25 secondary schools** attended the unveiling ceremony, with beneficiaries describing the initiative as a transformative investment capable of changing the educational landscape and expanding digital opportunities for young people across Oyo South.

The launch positions ROSMA as one of the most ambitious community-based digital education initiatives in Oyo State, reinforcing the growing emphasis on , innovation and human capital development as drivers of future economic growth.
