BREAKING: Gbolarunmi defeats Beula, emerges Oyo PDP flagbearer

Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarunmi has emerged as the flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Oyo State.

He secured the party's ticket after overwhelmingly defeating his only opponent, Amofin Beula, in the primary election conducted across all the 33 local government areas of the state.

The Chairman of the PDP Primary Election Committee, Hon. Awoniyi Tolulope, announced the official results following the conclusion of the exercise.

Tolulope disclosed that out of the 3,694 total registered members of the party, 3,640 voters were accredited for the primary election.

According to the committee chairman, Gbolarunmi polled a total of 3,615 votes to clinch the ticket, while Amofin Beula trailed behind with 25 votes.

Tolulope consequently declared Gbolarunmi as the winner and the official standard-bearer of the party, having satisfied all requirements and scored the highest number of votes.
