Oyo PDP primary: Tesojue congratulates Gbolarunmi over landslide victory

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate for Ibadan South-West/North-West Federal Constituency, Hon. Samson Opeyemi Fatola, has congratulated Barrister Azeem Gbolarunmi over his victory in the party's primary election.

Gbolarunmi emerged as the PDP flagbearer after defeating his opponent, Amofin Beulah Adeoye, in the primary election conducted across all 33 local government areas of the state.

Fatola, popularly known as Tesojue, described Gbolarunmi's victory as a well-deserved outcome that reflects his commitment, political resilience, and popularity among the grassroots.

The Chairman of the PDP Primary Election Committee, Hon. Awoniyi Tolulope, announced the official results following the conclusion of the exercise.

Tolulope disclosed that out of the 3,694 total registered members of the party, 3,640 voters were accredited for the primary election.

According to the committee chairman, Gbolarunmi polled a total of 3,615 votes to clinch the ticket, while Amofin Beulah Adeoye trailed behind with 25 votes.

Reacting to the development, Fatola urged all party stakeholders, contestants, and supporters to close ranks and unite behind the flagbearer to ensure a total victory for the PDP in the general elections.
