Oyo SWAN, Tribune Staff Celebrate Adeniyi Alebiosu on Meritorious Retirement After 30 Years

IBADAN — It was a moment of profound celebration as the staff of the African Newspapers of Nigeria (ANN) PLC, publishers of the Nigerian Tribune, alongside the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Oyo State Chapter, rolled out the drums to honor the Deputy Editor (Sports) and immediate past Chairman of Oyo SWAN, Mr. Adeniyi Abdul-Aziz Alebiosu, on his official retirement from the esteemed media organization.
Alebiosu’s exit marks the end of an illustrious and impactful three-decade career with Nigeria’s oldest surviving private newspaper.
Throughout his 30 years of dedicated service, he distinguished himself as a quintessential professional, a veteran sports journalist, and a mentor to countless practitioners in the industry. His unwavering commitment to the core ethics of journalism and his insightful reportage have left an indelible mark on the Nigerian sports media landscape.
During his tenure, Alebiosu successfully juggled demanding editorial responsibilities with key leadership roles.
As the immediate past Chairman of Oyo SWAN, he demonstrated exemplary leadership by steering the association with wisdom and fostering unprecedented unity among members.
While bidding farewell to his formal role at the ANN PLC corporate headquarters, colleagues and associates emphasized that his wealth of experience remains an invaluable asset to both the Tribune and the journalism profession at large.
The management of the Nigerian Tribune and the Oyo State Chapter of SWAN have expressed their deepest gratitude for his loyal service, wishing Mr. Alebiosu good health, longevity, and continued success in his future personal and professional endeavors as he transitions into retirement to spend more time with his loved ones.
