The Oyo State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate for the 2027 general election, Hazeem Gbolarumi, has lauded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the formal recognition of Prince Odeyemi Mackson Oladiran as the National Treasurer and Eyim Donatus Hentry as the National Financial Secretary of the party.

The recognition, which was officially updated on the commission’s portal, has been described by the gubernatorial candidate as a landmark development that reinforces the structural integrity of the party and strengthens the tenets of democracy in Nigeria.

Speaking through his media office on Thursday, Gbolarumi expressed his satisfaction with the development, noting that the inclusion of the duo in the official records of the electoral umpire puts an end to any ambiguity regarding the party’s leadership composition.

According to the 2027 governorship hopeful, the validation by INEC is not merely a bureaucratic process but a significant victory for the party faithful who have long awaited official confirmation to solidify the party’s administrative standing.

"This is indeed a win for democracy and a testament to the resilience and enduring strength of our great party," Gbolarumi stated. "The official recognition of Prince Odeyemi and Mr. Eyim by INEC serves as a morale booster for all members, ensuring that the party remains focused on its mission to provide credible leadership for the country."

The PDP candidate further used the opportunity to extend his warm felicitations to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

Gbolarumi hailed the minister as a dedicated party leader, describing him as a stabilizing force who is "shouldering the party to a greater height." He noted that the recent success of the party's administrative maneuvers is a reflection of the collective effort by stakeholders to ensure that the PDP remains a formidable force in the nation's political landscape.

Gbolarumi urged the newly recognized officers to discharge their duties with the utmost transparency and dedication, emphasizing that the party’s success in future electoral cycles rests on the strength and efficiency of its leadership team. He reiterated his commitment to the party’s ideals, calling on all members to remain united as they work toward repositioning the PDP for greater electoral successes in 2027 and beyond.
