​As Oyo State marks the 18th anniversary of the passing of the legendary Alhaji Lamidi Adedibu, Taiwo Jimoh, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Ibadan South West Constituency I seat in the Oyo State House of Assembly, has declared that the "Strongman of Ibadan Politics" continues to cast a long and vibrant shadow over the state’s political landscape.

​Jimoh asserted that the enduring relevance of the late kingmaker’s ideology is not merely a matter of history, but a living, breathing force in contemporary governance. He emphasized that the late Adedibu’s unique brand of grassroots politics—defined by direct engagement, unwavering loyalty, and an unashamed commitment to the welfare of the common man—remains the gold standard for success in Oyo State.

​Refuting claims that the influence of the historic Molete residence would fade with time, Jimoh pointed to the steady stream of supporters and political actors who still flock to the site as proof that the "Adedibu School of Political Ideology" remains the heartbeat of the region’s political activities.

​For Jimoh, who is vying to represent Ibadan South West Constituency I, these lessons are foundational. He maintained that those who attempt to sideline the wisdom of the late icon risk losing touch with the electorate, insisting that power must always be earned on the streets rather than through the detachment of elitist circles.
