LG Polls: Oyo PDP Secretary, Olaonipekun, Denounces Imposter, Labels ‘Publicity Secretary’ an APM Member

​The Oyo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially refuted a statement credited to one Oluyinka Tella, who purportedly spoke in the capacity of an Assistant Publicity Secretary regarding the forthcoming local government elections in the state.

 The authentic State Secretary of the party, Dr. Abiola Olaonipekun, on Saturday, categorically disowned the individual, stating that the comments made by Tella do not represent the position of the ruling party in Oyo State.

 The statement in question, titled "You Are Afraid of Your Shadow, Oyo PDP Knocks APC Over Election Boycott Threat - Says APC Never Believes in LG," had surfaced in the media, purportedly signed by Tella.

 Addressing the development, Dr. Olaonipekun clarified that the said individual, identified as Hon. Oluyinka Moses Tella, is not a member of the PDP but is, in fact, a member of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM). He warned that Tella possesses no mandate or legal right to speak on behalf of the Oyo State PDP.

​Olanipekun urged the general public and members of the media to be wary of such impersonations, noting that the party would not tolerate efforts to sow discord or misinform the electorate

​The State Secretary further warned Tella to immediately desist from the act of masquerading as an official of the PDP. He emphasized that the party would not hesitate to initiate legal proceedings against the individual, stressing that the law would be allowed to take its full course should the unauthorized statements continue.
