The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) House of Representatives candidate for Ibadan South-West/North-West Federal Constituency, Hon. Opeyemi Fatola, has called on residents of Oyo State to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Fatola made the appeal in a statement issued by his media team, describing the PVC as the strongest democratic tool available to citizens in choosing leaders and shaping the future of the country.
He urged eligible voters to visit their nearest local government secretariats to register and collect their voter cards, stressing that active participation in the electoral process remains a civic responsibility.
According to him, Nigerians must not surrender their constitutional rights by failing to secure the instrument that empowers them to determine who governs at every level.
“Your PVC is your strength. Get your PVC so as to elect your leaders that will steer the affairs of government from the presidency to the local government level,” Fatola said.
The PDP standard-bearer maintained that the 2027 polls would be pivotal in deciding the direction of governance and development across the nation, urging citizens to prepare adequately by ensuring they are eligible to vote.
Fatola also outlined his agenda for the people of Ibadan South-West/North-West Federal Constituency, promising quality representation anchored on accountability, inclusiveness and grassroots development.
He pledged sustained engagement with communities, aggressive poverty alleviation initiatives and the facilitation of critical government projects capable of improving the welfare of residents.
The House of Representatives hopeful further assured constituents of his commitment to sponsoring people-oriented legislation that would bring relief, stimulate economic growth and create opportunities for sustainable development.
He added that effective representation goes beyond occupying public office, insisting that leaders must remain connected to the aspirations and needs of the people they serve.
Fatola therefore appealed to eligible voters across Oyo State not to delay in obtaining their PVCs, noting that participation in the electoral process remains the surest pathway to good governance and democratic accountability.
