Molete Baptist Church, Hosts NBC President, Olusola Idowu, in Powerful Worship Service
IBADAN — Molete Baptist Church, Cathedral of Thanksgiving, Ibadan, witnessed a memorable worship experience on Sunday as the President of the Nigerian Baptist Convention (NBC), Rev. Dr Olusola Idowu, worshipped with the congregation alongside his wife, Pastor Mrs Folashade Idowu.
The visit of the NBC President and his entourage added colour to the service as the distinguished guests were warmly received by the church, with the Royal Ambassadors presenting a guard of honour in their honour.
Also present at the worship service was the Group Managing Director of Adron Group, Mrs Nike Ajobo, who anchored the tithe and offering session.
Ministering during the service, Rev. Dr Idowu spoke on the theme, “Draw Near to God,” taken from James 4:8, urging Christians to cultivate a closer and deeper relationship with God.
The NBC President stressed that drawing closer to God requires more than religious observance, but demands a life of purity, sincerity and renewed thinking.
He charged the congregation to examine their spiritual lives and remain intentional about maintaining a close walk with God, encouraging them to embrace values that would strengthen their faith and deepen their fellowship with God.
During the service, Rev. Dr Idowu also commended the contribution of Rev. Dr Kehinde Alabi, popularly known as Eddy K, to the growth, branding and public visibility of Molete Baptist Church.
The NBC President acknowledged Rev. Dr Alabi's efforts in promoting the church and projecting its identity beyond its immediate environment, noting that Molete Baptist Church had become widely recognised because of the hard work and commitment devoted to its public image and ministry.
He particularly appreciated Rev. Dr Alabi's efforts in promoting the kingdom of God, describing his contribution as a demonstration of dedication to the advancement of the Christian faith.
The service was attended by prominent officials and leaders of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, including the Director of the Christian Education Department, Rev. Dr Foluke Ola; the Convention's Public Relations Officer, Rev. Eben Durodola; and the Protocol and Ministerial Officer, Rev. Dr John Oluwajana, among other dignitaries.
The atmosphere became particularly spiritual towards the end of the service when Rev. Dr Idowu led the congregation in a prophetic prayer, committing the church, its leadership and members into the hands of God.
The leadership of Molete Baptist Church expressed appreciation to the NBC President and his entourage for honouring the church with their presence, describing the visit as a significant moment of worship, spiritual encouragement and fellowship.
The occasion brought together church leaders, members and distinguished guests in an atmosphere of worship and thanksgiving, with the congregation encouraged to remain committed to drawing closer to God and advancing His kingdom.
