NIKE AJOBO, TOP IBADAN DIGNITARIES HONOUR LEKAN ALABI AT 8TH-DAY FIDAU

IBADAN — The Managing Director of Adron Group, Mrs Nike Ajobo, joined top political, business and traditional figures in Ibadan on Sunday to honour the late Abese Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oloye Lekan Alabi, at his 8th-day Fidau prayer.

The Fidau prayer, held at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan, attracted a large gathering of prominent personalities, with political leaders, captains of industry, traditional title holders, celebrities, community leaders and associates of the deceased in attendance.

Mrs Ajobo was among the distinguished guests who attended the solemn ceremony to pay tribute to Oloye Lekan Alabi and identify with his family during the period of mourning.

The Olubadan of Ibadanland was ably represented at the occasion, further underscoring the significance of the Fidau and the late Oloye Lekan Alabi’s standing within Ibadan’s traditional institution and wider community.

Also present were the APC Oyo State Governorship Candidate, Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli; Alhaja Bose Adedibu; Dr Ibrahim Lawal; the Balogun Olubadan of Ibadanland;  Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe, Olori Mutiat Ladoja, Hon. Shina Alabi and Public Relations Manager of Odu’a Group of Companies, Mr Victor Ayetoro, among other notable personalities.

The morning Fidau prayer was followed by a reception at the International Conference Centre, where guests continued to pay their respects and celebrate the life and legacy of the late Ibadan high chief.

The gathering brought together personalities from the political, business, traditional and social circles, reflecting the broad network of relationships cultivated by Oloye Lekan Alabi during his lifetime.

For Mrs Ajobo and the other dignitaries, the occasion provided an opportunity to honour the memory of the respected Ibadan personality and join his family in prayers for the repose of his soul.

Oloye Lekan Alabi was widely recognised for his contributions to journalism, public affairs, traditional leadership and the promotion of Ibadan’s history and cultural heritage.

The 8th-day Fidau thus became a significant gathering of Ibadan’s political, business and traditional elite, united in remembrance of a man who played a notable role in the public life and development of the ancient city.
